On Monday, December 17, we had the pleasure of attending the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) press conference at the Whitney Peak Hotel introducing a new technology company, Figure Technologies joining our Nevada community. Governor Brian Sandoval introduced the company and expressed how proud he was that such an innovativecompany would be moving their home base from San Francisco to our beloved Nevada.

Figure Technology is a financial technology company leveraging blockchain, AI and analytics to deliver products to improve the financial lives of their customers.

Not to be confused with BitCoin or similar ventures, Figure’s main focus is building a financial industry that is consumer based and friendly. Co-Founder June Ou made it very clear that their company’s main focus comes from being customer-centric. Figure’s technology company allows homeowners to have cash access from their equity. They want to ensure real time settlements, reduced costs along with equity release. If you need the cash but are not ready to move quite yet, Figure will buy your home from you and rent it back to you until you are ready to make the leap in moving.

Sitting in the conference room with other members of the community, you could feel the energy and enthusiasm that Nevadans feel with their community. We want to know more and more about our growing economy. Figure hopes to not only become an active part of our community, but to also strengthen it by creating 240 jobs at first, with starting wage of $25/hour.

We welcome this new company with open arms and are excited to see what changes and technology development they bring to our community!
